Stage I
You find Mabel standing alone on the kitchen counter. Her nose twitches subtly as she inspects a bunch of grey-green herbs hanging from the rafters. "Do you remember the Sunday roasts, little mouse? The way the thyme would make the whole room feel warm? I can almost smell it... reach up there and bring me a branch."

"Perfect. Now, the rosemary," Mabel chirps, her tail swinging cheerfully. She points to a bundle of needle-like leaves, and you carry them into a small bowl as instructed. "You have to crush them! Use that pebble and grind them down, then we'll really smell it!"

Mabel begins to pace the rim of the bowl. She's delighted, with a genuine smile plastered on her face. "It needs a kick! A bit of fire!" She points to a pile of peppercorn kernels lying atop a napkin. "Roll those in! We're going to make a feast." You despair briefly at the amount of peppercorn in the pile before getting to work.

Stage IV
A faint, savory aroma of thyme and pepper finally rises from the bowl. Mabel closes her eyes, purring softly. "There... the kitchen feels warm again." She settles into a loaf nearby, sniffing intently at the air. When you hesitate, she gestures impatiently for you to join her. "The feast is served!" she proclaims. "Come and enjoy your share!"
